Volkswagen had a unique European delivery package allowing customers to take possession of their newly purchased vehicle from the factory. This program was particularly popular with Volkswagen camper vans. US customers would fly or sail to Germany, take possession, drive the vehicle throughout Europe and arrange shipping of the vehicle back to the US using this program. This could be arranged in US dealerships.
